Hope through yoga

The practice of yoga has changed me in many ways. Now is the time for you to make a change, through the practice of yoga.

Media attention may not be as immersed  in the Haiti relief efforts, but the people of Haiti still need a lot of money. Ame Wren, a teacher at Back Bay Yoga is teaching a fundraising all-levels Vinyasa class to raise money for Haiti Sunday, Feb. 14. The suggested donation is $15 but they will definitely accept more or less. All the proceeds will benefit Partners in Health.

I’ve taken plenty of classes with Ame, and she is a wonderful instructor. Whether you’ve never stepped on a mat before, or if headstands are a piece of cake, Ame challenges you and makes you push yourself. She’s incredibly sweet and absolutely hilarious. You may be sweating and tired, but Ame makes you laugh.

Back Bay Yoga is located at 364 Boylston St., on the second floor. The studio is right by the Arlington T stop. The class runs from 7 to 8:30 p.m., so that still leaves plenty of time for Valentine’s Day festivities.
